The keys to increasing the potential cycling population are safe shared streets, and safe, secure and convenient bike parking.
Now, with BikeRackMap.com, you can share, rate, review, evaluate and discuss bike parking locations, while quickly and easily creating a bike parking census for your community.
This powerful system allows you to zoom into the map for a street level map view, a 360 degree satellite view, and a 360 degree street view that lets you see the rack installation in the context of its location.

Wow, very cool. This will be particularly useful in areas of high theft and/or long visits . I am also interested in highlighting places with inadequate parking with photos of missing bike racks!
Thanks Bruce!
All of the current locations that have been added, reviewed and evaluated are short term bike parking.
Hi there! Glad to see people taking parking quality and location seriously. I’m curious why you’re using Google Maps as the backend. Did you consider using OpenStreetMaps? I’ve used OSM to map bike parking extensively in my area and don’t want to recreate the dataset.
Hi Steven!
BikeRackMap.com’s features and functionality described above are unfortunately far beyond the capabilities of OpenStreetMaps. Please watch the three overview videos for a complete tour.
Thanks!
I’m so excited for this to blossom and allow us to confidently travel by bike and highlight areas that need improved infrastructure! Thanks!!
Safe, secure bike parking is the missing part of the equation. Thanks for making this resource available.
This is an oustanding resource! Most of us have experienced more than a little frustration at the inadequacy or total unavailability of functional bike racks.
I haven’t seen a reliable and easily accessible aggregator for bike rack quality and locations anywhere before. This could be a game changer for advocating for better design and more locations
