Howling winds tried their best to launch our green Sprouts tent up to the hovering dark clouds that crept over our Grand Opening celebration but we were not deterred. The ribbon was cut to loud cheers and a grand time was had by all!
Howling winds tried their best to launch our green Sprouts tent up to the hovering dark clouds that crept over our Grand Opening celebration but we were not deterred. The ribbon was cut to loud cheers and a grand time was had by all!
Las Vegas Councilwoman Nancy Brune helped Sprouts Farm Road Manager Lillie Caswell, Sprouts District Director John Goldyn, and BikeRackMap.com Founder Craig Davis cut the ribbon, and issued a proclamation calling on all citizens to celebrate and observe May 3, 2025 as Sprouts Farmers Market and BikeRackMap.com's First Major Bike Parking Improvement Project Grand Opening Day!
This project resulted from a single cyclist using BikeRackMap.com to create the first 16 square mile Northwest Las Vegas bike parking census last summer. The census revealed over 22,000 vehicle parking spaces and only 43 bike racks. 93% of the bike racks are rated zero or one-star our of five. This BikeRackMap.com certified four-star "Excellent Bike Parking" is a significant first step toward improving bike parking in Las Vegas.
BikeRackMap.com envisions a connected network of four and five-star bike parking spanning the Las Vegas valley as a key to cycling becoming a viable form of active transportation in Las Vegas.

Incredible work! The community, employees, and customers of Sprouts and surrounding businesses are lucky to have you all advocating and supporting this essential element of infrastructure – excellent bike parking!! Great work!
This is great! I really appreciate the time and effort that it took to make this happen. Amazing work everyone!
Wow! Major congratulations. I love when businesses, towns and cyclists get together with a solid plan. 🚴💪
The comprehensive parking census performed by BikeRackMap.com for Northwest Las Vegas, was such an impressive effort. It exposed the stark disparity between the massive amount of available parking spots for automobiles and the almost nonexistent facilities to safely park bicycles. If we’re ever going to make significant progress in getting our communities to embrace Active Transportation, we need to do better. MUCH better!
In that light, Bike Rack Map’s collaboration with Sprout’s to get these sturdy bike racks installed is enormously important, and it’s wonderful to see that it got so much publicity. May this be the seed that “sprouts” a thousand more quality bike racks in Vegas, and beyond.
Fantastic! Thank you so much for your efforts to improve bicycle parking. I hope this seed will grow into a mighty oak. I particularly love the sign with the 4 star rating, highlighting the progress. Now people can see that the superior parking is purposeful and intentional, thereby leading to improvements at other sites–very good strategy.
Stoked to see more of these racks and eventually covered parking! I would love to see covered parking at local parks eventually but this is an awesome first step!
